About

Angel de Benito was born in León (Spain) and now lives and works in Madrid. He has a BD in Chemistry and a Master post graduate in fine arts by the Complutense University of Madrid. Beside the formal University education he has taken lessons from great contemporary painters like Antonio López, Alex Kanevsky, Vincent Desiderio, Stuart Shils and Sangram Majumdar among others.

His artistic interest has spread trough painting, drawing, graphic and photography. He has won a number of awards including the Four Seasons prize in 2017. His work is held in private and public collections like the University of the fine Arts in Madrid, the Four seasons collection, the Madrid City council and the Ankaria Foundation.

He is a visiting artist at the UCM Faculty of the fine arts in Madrid where he has lectured about contemporary artist techniques and color theory applied to painting. At the same University he has published a Master’s Thesis about the post-digital exploration of drawing and graphics.

Angel de Benito is the Chief editor of the  international scope website www.theartdigger.com where he publish articles about Art and artist regularly. He is also the organiser of Art workshops with some of the best contemporary artists through the website www.theartdiggerlab.com
